juvjuvychan:

You know what’d I’d be grateful to get? Glee not being offensive.

I know, I know it’s a tall fucking order isn’t it? But I do think it’s possible. Know why? Cause other shows have done it. A fucking cartoon show (Avatar last Airbender) has protrayed women and POC better then Glee ever has and yet glee gets praise for being so ~ progressive ~

All because they have minorities on their show they’re ~progressive~ and because from time to time they’ll focus on them but usually in the most offensive way possible, ie IKAG and Karofsky in general.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually appeared to give a damn about characters that WEREN’T straight/straight passing, white, able bodied, males.

I’d be grateful if the writers took the time to realize the victims feelings matter more then the victimizers and that the victim owes that person nothing.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to write their female characters in a progressive way and that they don’t need a man in their life for it to be complete cause according to them even lesbians need men to ~guide them.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to develop POC like Tina, Mercedes, etc in some way, shape or form.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to develop Artie instead of trotting him out for a very special episode about his wheelchair and to sing a smooth R&B song.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to develop Brittany and Blaine as a legitimate characters instead of a one-liner factory and a human junkbox who have neither agency within their partners storylines nor any storylines of their own.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to give Santana’s, a woman of color and a lesbian, coming out and struggle with her sexuality the same narrative importance and level of agency as Karofsky, a straight passing white male.

I’d be grateful if the writers actually took the time to showcase Klaine and Brittana as two healthy, in love same sex couples instead of censoring the hell out of them not only in the physical affection department, but also in the agency department.

I’d be grateful if the writers DIDN’T get praised for having all these minority characters on their show because they don’t fucking do anything with them or appear to care about them at all.

Yeah. Dislike Glee’s habit of “representing the minorities” by resorting to stereotyping.

It’s a fun show, it is. And I adore it, but they need to up the ante. That would truly be progressive. Thank god Legend...

Well put. And yes, other shows have done it. That’s why Glee needs to figure out how to do it as well. Thank you for...
